deleting files using edit mode: help!

I had some trouble with duplicates in a directory and getting them out of the ejukebox (3.6) database. so, I decided to use the delete function in the edit mode.
it successfully removed the songs from the database.

now the problem is that I want to re-add them, but when I tell ejukebox to add new mp3s and point it to that directory, it doesn't add anything (as if it thinks it already has them, yet it doesn't).

has anyone else seen this?

ALSO it would be VERY nice if the "delete" function moved files to the recycler, not incinerate them. I accidentally deleted a file in edit mode and it is nowhere to be found, not even the recycler. I use unix all day so I can understand, but it really isn't windows standard behavior.
thanks!

This post on how to rebuild your database using the ejuke.asn file should probably help you getting everything in order: http://www.audiosoft.net/forums/viewthread.php?tid=332

I asked about this once on the old forum here.

Audiosoft said they put this in on purpose because they didn't envision why somebody wanted to delete a track and then add that same track in again.

theses choices of implementation are not logical !
it's the user who should decide if he has good reasons to do that.

I seem to remember Audiosoft suggesting you rename the file to get around that problem.
