eJukebox v3.998
Audiosoft - 3-22-2006 at 05:15 AM

v3.998 Changes:

Beta 1: New option - on the AlbumList "Options" panel - to place compilations at the "Top" of the list.

Beta 2: Should fix the problems some users were having with the album list images all being the same. It also has experimental IE7 compatibility.

Beta 3: Full IE7 Compatibility. Speed Improvements under both IE7 and IE6. 2nd attempt to fix album list images all the same.

Final:

-fixed internet radio causing eJukebox to freeze on startup
-artist list now uses less handle resources when artistlist is hidden and a-z bar visible
-moved songlist and albumlist headers over 1 pixel so they align properly and don't show 1px of songlist to the left of the header images.
-should fix eJukebox occasionally getting stuck on the same song when in AutoPlay mode
-various speed tweaks

Note: Beta 3 download removed on 3-28-06. Beta 3 had 15 downloads.
v3.998 final is now available for download.

Well_Jaggy - 3-23-2006 at 06:52 PM

Downloaded and tried this new one. Couple of problems I have found with this -

1 - there is not enough room in 800x600 screen resolution to display the entire screen, for example the quick link letters to jump to the artist only go to W. -( X Y and Z are off the bottom of the screen)

2 - All album covers are displaying the first cover in the album list, so all album covers are the same. They do however show ok in the "Songlist" section when I click on an album.

nothing else at the moment, but hope these get ironed out soon.

RE: All album covers are displaying the first cover in the album list, so all album covers are the same

Give v3.998 Beta 2 try. The download is in the first post.

Well_Jaggy - 3-24-2006 at 02:22 PM

I'll give it a go when I get home from work tonight!

Cheers Audiosoft!

Well_Jaggy - 3-24-2006 at 06:57 PM

Still showing the same cover for all albums, however, its a diffirent cover this time. Beta 1, displayed the very first cover in my album list for all albums. Beta two displays the third album cover for all albums.

However, I can now see the full "A-Z" quick link to the artists.

Audiosoft - 3-24-2006 at 11:17 PM

Wow, that is really wierd.
So every album in the list not only has the same image but the same album name text too? I have yet to reproduce this problem. I will look into this some more.

Anyone else having this problem?

Does the same thing happen when you have the album list option
"Do Not Seperate Albums by Artist" UnChecked? Does it at least show the correct artist names?

Well_Jaggy - 3-25-2006 at 07:31 AM

sorry, not the same album text! its just the screenshot was taken in the middle of my "now thats what I call Music" selection ! its, now 1, now 2 etc etc..

I will try the "Do Not Seperate Albums by Artist" tick when I get home today. (probably about 2:30pm uk time)

Audiosoft - 3-25-2006 at 10:16 AM

Well_Jaggy,

Also give eJukebox v3.998 Beta 3 in the first post a try.

Well_Jaggy - 3-25-2006 at 02:40 PM

Not good news I'm afraid.

I removed the tick from "do not seperate Albums by artist", but it was still the same. I have installed Beta 3, but still have the same problem.

The cover has gone back to the first one in my list again though!

I am still able to use V3.994 ok though, and I havn't tried any of the updates in between.

Pirk - 3-25-2006 at 02:44 PM

Well_Jaggy, your PC seems to be possessed! :o

I hope Audiosoft will solve your problem... ;)

PS: I like the colors you have chosen for your album frames.

Well_Jaggy - 3-25-2006 at 02:48 PM

Its weird isn't it!

I did notice though that "WEBMAN" had the same problem with 3.997. don;t know if that got resolved though

(the colours are Claret and Amber - For Motherwell Football Club!)

Webmans problem here

I think it's a good sign for you. Probably there is really a bug under certain circumstances... You "just" need to figure out what you have in common with Webman!?

Audiosoft - 3-28-2006 at 04:35 AM

v3.998 final is now available for download on the Download section at Audiosoft.Net.

Fishy - 3-28-2006 at 09:33 AM

Seems to be a bug in the refresh method in 3.998 final. It doesn't refresh the hole list. But starts on random points in the list. The screenshot illustrates this. In this particular case it starts on "S" with Smashing Pumpkins.

Edit: This behaviour doesn't always occur. It seems to be more probable when I refresh the list while the albumlist builds, or enter a few albums (view them in the songlist) while the albumlist loads. In the latter case it also stops loading the album list. Sorry for a poor description on this :(

Audiosoft - 3-28-2006 at 10:03 AM

Fishy, you need to click the x next to the album list progress bar to stop the album list load before clicking refresh again or you could run into problems. I will try to get it to stop the first refresh automatically for the next version.

Other than that everything is good with v3.998?
Glad you are using 2Web FTP. Great idea with the avatar cover!

Did you notice the new songlist effects in the Default skin? Arctic is looking really good...was wondering if you had anything new in the works.

Well_Jaggy - 3-29-2006 at 08:26 PM

Sorry Audiosoft, 3.998 Final STILL shows all my album covers as the same cover. I now have a new problem however, in that in using the update, I dont have the EXE for 3.994 to go back to, so its pretty much unusable for me now.
Really need this fixed soon.

EDIT - Just found an old v3.98 which I am now using ok. not ideal though - still would like the problem fixed!

Pirk - 3-29-2006 at 10:04 PM

Well_Jaggy,

I have the .exe that you want! If that can help you waiting for the problem fixed.. ;)

Fishy - 3-30-2006 at 12:28 AM

Audiosoft: I would love to make a skin for 4.0. Unfortuntaly I'm in the middle of the end of my master thesis and got too little time on my hands. And Junk who was the graphic genious of acrtic is occupied in different projects as well. But, I arctic will be updated but it is not possible at the present time :(

Well_Jaggy - 3-30-2006 at 07:03 AM

Thanks Pirk! I will download that when I get home tonight.

Thats what I like about this forum - everyone is so helpfull!

CHEERS! :D

Audiosoft - 3-30-2006 at 09:29 AM

Well_Jaggy,

You might as well use v3.996 as your problem must be related to the albumlist anti-aliasing which was added in 3.997.

http://www.audiosoft.net/eJukebox_v3.996_Setup.exe

Well_Jaggy - 3-30-2006 at 03:20 PM

ok. I will try 3.996 when I get home tonight, and see how i get on with that one. Thanks!

Well_Jaggy - 3-30-2006 at 05:17 PM

3.996 is installed and working ok! Thanks.

At least you know where the problem lies then Audiosoft. If you would like me to do anymore testing on fixes for it, let me know!

Thanks!

bhauxwell - 3-30-2006 at 08:45 PM

I have the same problem with all the album covers being the same in the album list. This started with 3.997 and I have just loaded the latest 3.998 and completed a re-build of the 2000 albums and it still has the issue. This was also an issue with 3.997.

However I do notice that just a few albums in the album list do have the correct image.

Audiosoft - 3-31-2006 at 04:58 AM

bhauxwell,

Did you go to v3.997 from v3.996 or from an older version like Well_Jaggy? I am trying to figure out why it is not working for you guys. If I can't figure it out, at least I know a way to get the album list working like it does in v3.996 for you. I could just add an option to disable anti-aliasing in the next version.

Also, can you guys check if you have the file: C:Windowssystem32ijl11.dll

bhauxwell - 3-31-2006 at 07:51 AM

Audiosoft,

Yes I have the file system32ijl11.dll on both of my machines.

I can't be sure about the upgrade path, but one is on 3.997 and the other as of last night is on 3.998, both have the same problem of having the same cover image for nearly all of the albums in Album list. They display correctly duriing play.

Audiosoft - 3-31-2006 at 08:22 AM

For the images that do show up correct do they have uneven border highlights when you put the mouse over them? or is the highlight effect perfectly square?

Well_Jaggy - 3-31-2006 at 08:51 AM

I will check for that dll when I get home tonight (around 6:30pm uk time)

I know that the borders are uneven on 3.996, although I thought that they were even on 3.994 (could be wrong though!)

Audiosoft - 3-31-2006 at 10:59 AM

The borders are perfect for high quality images and uneven for low quality ones. I was just wondering what type of images were the ones that actually showed up correct in v3.997.

Well_Jaggy - 3-31-2006 at 05:15 PM

OK, just checked, and I do have the .dll file in my System 32 folder. Hope the info helps!

bhauxwell - 3-31-2006 at 07:10 PM

Ok just checked the Album display:
1) The repeated alum cover is the first one,
2) The next three that display (a long way through between appear to be low resolution images) - which have been applied automaticaly as I have no image in the directories,
3) In between these I have some albums which have no images at all (I have turned automatic lookup turned off as I have had a lot of problems with the wrong images being applied in the past)
4) The border on the images displayed are uneven.

Brian

Well_Jaggy - 3-31-2006 at 09:18 PM

Yep - looks like the same as me!

At least I know its not just me! thought I was losing it for a while there! :o

Audiosoft - 3-31-2006 at 11:23 PM

Thanks for all the feedback on the album list image issue everyone.
I think I got the problem fixed. Give v3.999 Beta 1 a try and let me know.
