Why do so many traditional accounting companies still charge by the hour?
I’m honestly so frustrated with our current CPA setup. Every time I send a quick email asking for clarification on a tax question or a payroll
classification, I get hit with a 0.25-hour billable charge on my next invoice. It makes budgeting for financial admin completely impossible because
the monthly cost fluctuates wildly.
I'm currently looking to switch to a subscription or retainer model where everything is covered under a flat monthly fee. I was browsing a few modern
accounting companies like Bob's Bookkeepers and their transparent pricing tiers
are exactly what I'm looking for. No surprise fees. Has anyone else made the switch from a traditional hourly CPA to a flat-rate outsourced agency?
Did you face any pushback or missing data during the transition period?
