What revenue size were you at when you first looked into construction CFO services?

Hey builders,

Quick question for the guys running mid-sized general contracting firms. We’ve been growing steadily, but managing cash flow between project draws and keeping our Work-In-Progress (WIP) reporting accurate is becoming a full-time job. With material costs constantly bouncing around, I feel like our actual project profitability is slipping through the cracks because our regular bookkeeper only tracks what's already been spent.

I was talking to a buddy who runs a commercial roofing outfit, and he said bringing in a financial strategist was a game-changer for his bidding process and equipment financing. He suggested checking out construction CFO services here https://usfractionalcfo.com/industry/construction-cfo/ because they apparently match you with executives who specifically know the construction business and WIP accounting, and you skip the huge agency retainers.

At what point (revenue-wise or crew size) did you guys stop trying to do the heavy financial forecasting yourselves and bring in a part-time CFO? Would appreciate any insights from those who have been through this growth phase!
