genre wrong on tags

I've been going on a major re-build of my library lately (I lost tons of songs last week, and have to re-rip them all). I've noticed that a lot of the albums are either comming up as Misc. or otherwise totally wrong (ie: Styx comming in with "Folk" or Enya as Rock) Any ideas here?
Of course, this is the first time I've used EJ to rip my CD's, since when I originally recorded them I didn't own EJ.

The only place in eJukebox where it tries to automatically figure out the genre, when there is none in the tag, is when using the CD2MP3 Ripper. This data is retreived from freedb.org's CDDB disc lookup...thus this genre information is from their database and may or may not be correct.

Hmmm, then is there a fix to this, I guess do what I've been doing, changing it as I rip the song, or use Music Match <ugh> it's much slower than EJ.

Here is an interesting question then, what database does musicmatch use? it seems to get it right on 99.9 % of the time where freedb.org doesn't seem to as much, or it can't find the album at all :(

I'm happy you also report this problem, jojo... i have noticed the same thing and already reported in the forums many times:
The eJukebox CD ripper can't find as much albums as the others rippers. In my case i have noticed that using Easy cdda extractor which find many more albums.
But unfortunately i don't know why... CD copy protection? mixed CDs (audio+data)? different search method?
