Scheduler not showing all profiles
crlove - 8-31-2010 at 02:40 AM

The new scheduler is only showing me 3 list profiles when I have more. As you can see I have a NewAge.
:(

Audiosoft - 8-31-2010 at 03:59 AM

Thanks this has been fixed for v5.31
With v5.30 any new profiles you have added during the session will only show up on the Scheduler options only after you restart EJ.

crlove - 9-7-2010 at 01:15 AM

It seems to only play the 3 profiles as well rock, blues, default all other scheduled profiles don't play even with a restart. Very similar to the issue of seeing the profiles that were setup before a restart.

Audiosoft - 9-7-2010 at 01:38 AM

was that with v5.30 or v5.31?
make sure you are selected "Clear and |>" for the scheduler action.

crlove - 9-7-2010 at 01:43 AM

I was on 5.30 I didn't see 5.31 available for download. I was looking in the forum for the upgarde. I see it is on the download page I will try it and let you know.

what does |> mean?

Audiosoft - 9-9-2010 at 09:42 PM

|> means PLAY

Clear the playlist and start auto playing the List Builder Profile

the other option sets the autoplay profile but waits until the main playlist runs out

I've install the 5.31 version restarted many times it seems to only play the first 3 original profiles I had and not the other 6 I've added since I installed 5.30

Audiosoft - 9-10-2010 at 08:08 PM

nothing happens at the time specified for those?
Make sure you are setting 24 hour time
i.e. 1PM = 13:00

crlove - 9-10-2010 at 09:37 PM

I've been using 24hr time. It will play the first 3 profiles, the ones that were there before upgrade to 5.30, but it won't play any other ones that have been added since. Even after upgrading to 5.31 and several restarts. It is changing to those 3 profiles several time slots in a 24hr period. See attached. If you notice they are also the top 3 in the list. I could trying changing the order.

Audiosoft - 9-11-2010 at 01:40 AM

thanks for the screen. maybe the & character in the profile name is messing it up. Will look into this tomorrow.
Also like i said before: it will not start playing right away when you use 'Set ListBuilder' instead maybe you need 'Clear and |>' .
Even when there are no songs in the playlist 'Set ListBuilder' waits for the currently playing song to finish.

crlove - 9-11-2010 at 01:11 PM

It fails with Clear and |>" for the scheduler also. The scheduler will only schedule and play the top three profiles. Maybe your right with the & since R&B is number 4 maybe it can't read the rest of the list. Are you able to schedule more....?

Audiosoft - 9-11-2010 at 09:31 PM

still unable to reproduce this. & works for me.
have you tried changing the time to now on the 4th to see if it would run?
can you upload your C:EJukeboxSchedule.ini so i can take a look?

crlove - 9-13-2010 at 09:40 PM

I changed the time from 23:59 to 10:00 and number 4 scheduled task R&B and Soul ran. It also ran the 13:00 & 15:00 profile as well with no issues. Maybe it didn't like 23:59 and would not go thru the rest of the schedule till I changed it. I'll keep you up to date if it seems to stop working.

crlove - 10-20-2010 at 12:20 AM

I’m still having issues with the scheduler sometimes it will play for timeslot in a row. Then I have to shutdown again it may play a few time slots and then sticks on the last schedule played. I've tried changing the profile to all alphas to verify there are no issues with unsupported characters.

If I deleted the scheduler.ini and log and restart eJukebox can I start a new schedule created from scratch?

Attached is scheduler.ini

I also will try 5.36 beta

Audiosoft - 10-20-2010 at 05:17 AM

what specifically goes wrong? the autoplay is not switching to the profile? any pattern to which ones fail?

your Schedule.ini looks good but do those List Builder Profile names show in the List Builder?
Double click each item in the Scheduler and make sure the Path shows the List Builder Profile name.

also did you check schedlog.txt to see if they all get logged?

also I do not think the & characters made a difference after all... i believe your original problem was because 23:59 does not work.

btw yes you can delete or rename the Schedule.ini and on the next EJukebox startup it will create a fresh ini.

crlove - 10-20-2010 at 11:33 AM

All played schedules show in the log and all profiles exist. The scheduler will play 2 to 4 times slots and then stop playing anything new the profile will stay at last played profile. If I sort the scheduler and restart the order changes but the results are the same. I've attached a schedlog modified with comments.
It is not working any better with the beta.

crlove - 10-20-2010 at 10:55 PM

I deleted my schedule.ini and have reentered my schedule.
I will let you know how it works.
One suggestion is if you are starting ejukebox it should look at the scheduler to see what should play during that time frame. If nothing it does like it does now just play the last profile. What happens if you manually change profiles will it go back to the scheduled profile at the next scheduled time slot

Audiosoft - 10-21-2010 at 10:31 AM

RE: What happens if you manually change profiles will it go back to the scheduled profile at the next scheduled time slot

yes it will. the time triggers the action. EJUKEBOX has 59 seconds to receive CPU cycles to trigger the action at the hour:minutes time. the higher the seconds in the log the less CPU/disk was available.
The highest seconds i see in your posted log is :03.

If it is not logging an item at all maybe antivirus or another process was locking up the cpu/disk or the PC was sleeping making EJukebox unable to perform the action. In this case I recommend Tools->Options->OTHER tab-Check Run in Ram so it keeps ejukebox more resident after long stretches without user input.

RE: One suggestion is if you are starting ejukebox it should look at the scheduler to see what should play during that time frame.

not a bad suggestion. i will see if an option for that can be made possible.

crlove - 10-22-2010 at 11:24 AM

It's an older Pentium 4 machine I only have 768mb of Ram (laptop no cheap expansion) so running ram doesn't work well. I do run ejukebox from a USB stick which helps speed things up on DB lookups. I'll give it a try but my DB is almost 1.9 gb so alot of disk swapping.

crlove - 10-26-2010 at 12:08 AM

I'm running 5.38. I'm running from Ram. Deleted schedule.ini, restarted ejukebox and recreated schedule groups in scheduler. Tried setting them to clear playlist when it changes profiles. I've reloaded the DB. I've tested every profile used in the scheduler by changing them in Play Mode - Custom List Profile

I do see that the ejukebox.ini and ejuke.asn gets a modified date on every song change so that means the program has access to change the files when the profile changes from the schedule.

crlove - 10-28-2010 at 02:08 AM

I think it may fail if you have 2 or more schedules for the same time even if they are on differant days. I installed a new version on another machine and in the 3 day trial that is what seem to break the schedule.

Audiosoft - 10-28-2010 at 05:51 PM

Eureka! it wasn't processing the items in the list after the first item set to run on a day of the week different than the current day.

This v5.402 fixes the scheduler... :D
Shutdown EJukebox and replace over your current C:EJukeboxejukebox.exe

crlove - 10-28-2010 at 09:23 PM

Great I'll test it out.
