Time Play Mode
ochristmas - 7-22-2004 at 10:27 AM

I think I have mentioned this before but I am sure that if implemented this would be a massive USP for eJukebox. Ok heres a scenario....

Every weekday evening I get home from work tired, depressed, dejected (cue violins!) and I get eJukebox to play all my classical and ambient music. Friday and Saturday evening I queue up all my pop, rock and dance.

Now the above scenario is an obvious trend but I am certain there are others that eJukebox could pick up.

I would imaging a time/day v genre and time/day v artist would be awesome - so I could come home and either get eJukebox to play popular genre or artist for the day or for the time.

How about it folks - you know you want it :D

+1
Why not? :D It's not stupid at all, after all! :D

"not stupid at all" - why thank you Pirk! Did you ever doubt me !!?? ;)

A schedule function right? Which could do everything from rebuilding your database at a user definable moment. To go into certain play modes at specific moments? An exellent concept.. +1 Fully support it :)

The simplest "scheduling" is probably just when to play versus not. Sort of... a "sleep timer". That could be a first step if the whole product getting a schedule function means a long development cycle.

Then, stuff like time-of-day playing could be a 2nd level added on later, and playing specific "filters" at certain times of day a final 3rd level.

Of course, another benefit of breaking this idea down into multiple steps like this is that potential expansions of how to handle genres have been mentioned elsewhere on this board, and I hope that's developed a bit before more elaborate scheduling in chained/tied to it.

Yeahhh Yeahhh... and put in a timer that automaticaly make every 15 minuts a cup of coffie !! (Settable time and drink ofcause) :D

Pirk - 7-23-2004 at 12:33 PM

Given anymore thought to a scheduler? I also would like to schedule differant playlists or genres by day of the week/time as I use my jukebox alot as if it were my own personal radio station with shoutcast.

Audiosoft - 8-24-2010 at 08:07 AM

;) Lots of thought...

Thanks Audiosoft, but v5.30 crash after loading.

Audiosoft - 8-24-2010 at 04:06 PM

when does it crash?

Pirk - 8-24-2010 at 04:16 PM

it loads 100%, the skin show up but just for one second, then it disappears and ejukebox.exe ends maybe 20 seconds later.

Audiosoft - 8-24-2010 at 04:37 PM

ok a new exe is up...crash gone for you?

Pirk - 8-24-2010 at 04:49 PM

yes, this time it works good. i can try the scheduler.

is it possible to add an action like: "shut down ej at 23:30" or "shut down ej after xxx minutes" ?

thanks.

Audiosoft - 8-24-2010 at 04:51 PM

Great! Yes I can add more Actions
Shutdown at 23:30 will be possible

can you fix your forum footer so it doesn't take up so much height?
There is a huge blank space under the dotted line

Pirk - 8-24-2010 at 04:53 PM

Excellent! Thanks a lot.

ok for my footer, i'll reduce it a lot.

Pirk - 8-24-2010 at 05:09 PM

well it seems the empty space is not reducible!?

Audiosoft - 8-24-2010 at 05:44 PM

Shutdown Schedule is now in the above exe

Pirk - 8-24-2010 at 06:14 PM

crlove - 8-29-2010 at 02:07 PM

Thanks for the Scheduler it was exactly what I needed. I look forward to the next update to see what additional actions you add.:D

crlove - 9-1-2010 at 10:55 PM

How about the ability to sort the columns in the scheduler? It would be especially nice on the start column.
Also unrelated to the scheduler the list profile would be nice if it sorted in A-Z order.
