eJukebox pro problem
DrPepperMan - 12-2-2004 at 02:46 PM

Hi. I came across eJukebox when I was on the net and downloaded and installed eJukebox 3.97 Pro. I can't get the programme to work! It loads about 3/4 and then just crashes! Can anyone offer any help. Cheers. BTW I'm using XP Pro with Service Pack 2 if that is any help.

Have you got WinAmp installed?

Yeah I do have winamp installed. Should I uninstall it?

1. Most Definately not. Winamp is the slave of ejukebox and Ej depends on winamp if you want sound.. Which I suppose you do ;)

Which version of winamp do you have? The 2.9 series are recommended by Audiosoft, but the 5.x series might also work fine. Maybe try a reinstall of winamp?

2. Have you installed those things mentioned at the download page under "Click Here if eJukebox doesn't work after installation"?

3. Also check your ejukebox directory. Is there a file in there named ejuke.asn? If no, then download a new one and put it in into your ejukebox directory. http://www.audiosoft.net/forums/viewthread.php?action=attachment&tid=332&pid=1330

I'm using winamp 5.07. I haven't clicked on the link. And I have the ejuke.asn file. Cheers for the advice, I will have to try that link on the download page. I will update you if it works.

If it is stil doing the same thig, e., loading about 75% then stopping try (1) a reset. (2) Play a file a file that is in the ejukebox database from winamp (don't load ejukbox). (3) Stop the payback in Winamp and then close winamp. (4) Now try ejukebox, and with a bit of luck.

.. and if none of the suggestions above won't make it behave. Try to do a reinstall of internet explorer. Ej depends on it too, which I of course forgot to mention in my last post in this thread ;)

I tried all the options on the download page - MDAC won't install - I get ths error:

MDAC 2.8 RTM is incompatible with this version of Windows. All of its features are currently part of Windows.

on windows xp pro IE7rc1 with winamp pro 5.3 installed. & running successfully

get the initial splash with "Continue setup" then it goes to the Database corruption error

any other ideas?

Thanks!

I replaced ejuke.asn with the default ejuke.asn, deleted the db.m3u and then created a new db when ejukebox started up. It seemed to load ok after that.
