IE supports CUR and ANI as formats.
cursor: url(foo.cur), auto;
when url not found it uses...
auto
pointer
hand
did you try copying a .cur file to the skins images folder?

well i just tried with a windows .cur and also .ani, but still no success for me.

i think maybe IE9 wants
cursor: pointer;
instead of cursor: hand;
your solution for the homeview worked but the cursor stays the hand the entire time over the list instead of when over something clickable.
can you test if cursor: pointer; works and shows the hand?
if it does i think i can fix it to run the correct cursors in ie9 without .dis changes.
actually instead try this exe and see if the cursors now show the hand in IE9STANDARDS on existing skins

but does that exe fix it so the hand shows up for existing skins instead of how it was showing the text selection cursor?
btw that exe includes the text-align: left; fix for the homeview so existing skins use that by deault instead of needing it in the .dis.

well it seems your exe is not better for me. no hand in IE9STANDARDS.

does gradient filter not work?
I think the only way to fix old skin cursors is for EJ to find and replace all the cursor: hand; 's that exist in the .dis files and replace with
cursor: pointer;
Not a bad idea since google says IE6 supports cursor: pointer...hopefully showing the hand so that can be the same in all skins.

This exe makes the cursors work good on all IE versions
the cursor: hand's in the skin's images/skinname/ .dis files are now automatically replaced with cursor: pointer; when you startup or switch to the
skin.
... and the scroll sliders, the 'now playing' height and the songlist is now functional in IE9STANDARDS

it works good. so now .titlehi is functional. it would just miss .titleedithi which still crash EJ when IE9STANDARDS is used. Thanks, great work!
..and the now playing image can also be resized!! Perfect.

noticed that right click crash was trying to figure that out.
spent all nite getting the songlist elements working...and i think the tiled images are still not showing up. very frustrating.
also i forget does right click work on the play icon for previewing?
ugh i need a nap. 
more later today...btw how do i make that cool radius in vinyl like in your screen? haven't tried yet would like to play with radius when i wake up

yes the preview works good!
there is just the preview box which is not ideally placed and sized on win7. but it's not related to IE9STANDARDS.

this exe can now detect IE9 and
the 'now playing' out animation now works with IE9beta installed
also fixed the songlist right-click crash and songlist titleedithi now working in 9standards
