Hitting 'Update database -> Clean/Refresh' button crashes eJukebox
William - 7-15-2004 at 01:04 PM

I have tried it on 3 computes, on 1 it works correct and on the other 2 the program eJukebox crashes when I hit the 'Update database -> Clean/Refresh' button in the 'Options menu'.

On the one computer on which eJukebox works fine there are many more other programs on it installed. The other 2 computers are clean just after WinXP installation.

All 3 computers have:
- WinXP professional NL installed.
- eJukeBox 3.88 installed.
- WinAmp 5.03 installed.
- Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 (SP8) for WinXP (KB829558) NL
- Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 NL
I even installed MS Office 2003 NL with Frontpage but it still does not solve the problem.

Any Ideas what can be the problem?

Thanx!

My computer is full of rubbish and generally runs like a dog. However the "clean/refresh" function works like a dream for me!

William,

Do you get any error messages when this happens or does eJukebox lockup or disappear?

William - 7-15-2004 at 07:27 PM

Thanks for your quick response.

I get an error message, saying:
"In eJukebox is een fout opgetreden en moet worden afgesloten. Onze excuses voor dit ongemak."
In English: "An error occured in eJukebox and therefor has to be closed. We apologise for this inconvenience"

There is also an error-report with the following data in it:

Thanks for the error report...

Do you get this error right when you hit the 'Update database -> Clean/Refresh' button or when you click one of the buttons under Clean/Refresh?

William - 7-16-2004 at 08:25 AM

Feels good to hear that you're on top of my problem. ;)

Well... yes right away, I never see the popup window with the options 'clean' and 'refresh'. But on the other hand 'Add New Music Files' works perfectly, which also shows a popup window with two options (but the form looks a bit different though, it has a statusbar at the bottom for instance).

Could it be caused by incompatible form objects (instead of database objects (DAC))?

Another observation of me is that the popup windows are all a little bit too 'modal', for instance when I'm working on a remote desktop I still see the eJukebox popup windows infront of me.
