Randomize function is no good..
fundseth - 8-11-2006 at 04:13 PM

hi all!

I have made a large playlist with more than 500 songs and set ejukebox to play from this playlist file when the regular playlist is empty. Also the 'Randomize' option is selected.

It all works well except that very often it plays the first two songs in the list.. I do not know how often, but my guess is about every 10-15 songs or so either one or both of the two first songs will be played. Very annoying as I am starting to get really tired of these two songs:)

Can you please take a closer look to the randomize function Audiosoft??

BTW I'm using the latest version 4 beta1.

Kind regards.

Thanks for reporting this one.
The problem has been fixed for v4.0 beta 2.

This one seems to be even worse in 404. But it has been around awhile. When I start eJ and there are no songs in the list, the first song it picks is by Britney Spears. Usually the same song, but restarts during the day change which Spears tune it plays. (I don't really care for her, so this is especially bad.) It used to be ACDC. Every time you would start it would be this one ACDC tune. I mentioned this last night to a friend who has his own jukebox. His does ACDC too!!!! (He is happy it isn't Spears!!). Does anyone else see this? The same song or artist every time? Being on two diferent machines I thought I would bring it up. It isn't just me.

Just deny it :D I would delete Miss Spears from my harddrive. If audiosoft comes up with a better sollution I am impressed. Get Bambie away, and get over it. There are other girls out there for you :D

Sure, I delete Ms Spears and it is replaced by something worse? :D I just thought I would mention it isn't as random as it seems. Sometimes it is playing in Popular mode and I see a tune about to play I don't want, I press next and it goes away. But within a few tunes the very same song comes up again! I have it set for 4 times and have over a thousand songs to chose from with this parameter. But yet it has favorites of it's own.

I really seem to notice this issue also in popularity mode. Every time I start up eJukebox I hear many of the same songs with some thrown in random. Is there a way to not let eJukebox replay the same song unless every possible song in the paramaters has alreay been played. It is also a must for eJukebox to keep track of this between multiple sessions. Also I occassionally get the same song playing as up next at startup.

Yep, I have the same problem in bookmark mode/randomized as Dyno Don describes. I would like to have a better understanding of how the bookmark random mode works behind the scenes. When using bookmark mode for autoplay with randomize, does EJ just simply build a list of songs randomly once from the playlist you load?

This problem seems to still exist in latest version.
