I just did a rebuild on one of my Hard drives and for 16000+ songs my ejuke.asn is Over 146 megs...

Does this seem right or oversized?

For 35000+ songs the ejuke.asn is about twice as big (300 mb), makes sense.

why is the ejuke.asn file so large anyway.. mine is pushing the 500mb mark. plus the .bac file now i have over 1gb of space being taken up by this. seems a bit excessive

When you add files and cover art the data is larger and fragmented in the database until you shutdown eJukebox and it compacts/defragments the database file. Also the next time you close eJukebox the backup should then be smaller since the database was compacted on the last shutdown.

well.. now after putting in 19000 + tracks the asn is over 800mb and i don't even have all my tunes added yet. is around the size of everyone else's asn file? does this size sound right for as many tracks as i have? as a note i do have an 800x800 cover image embedded in each track, well most of them. could this account for the large asn file size?

It is what it is. The art is a big part of the file size. When you shutdown eJukebox it should compact the asn file smaller.
