AutoList Builder
bosh - 10-29-2005 at 01:56 AM

AutoList Builder doesn't work for me. I click on the AutoList Builder option in the Tools menu, and nothing happens.

Audiosoft - 10-29-2005 at 02:43 AM

Thats weird...under what OS? Win98?

bosh - 10-29-2005 at 03:36 PM

Windows 2000 SP 4. I Tried restarting eJukebox several times, but AutoList Builder never works.

Any insights to this bug? Still having problems getting the autolist builder to show up.

Audiosoft - 11-11-2005 at 02:38 AM

bosh,

Made some changes to the way the Autolist builder window is initialized.
Try v3.991 beta and let me know if the autolist builder shows up under Win2k.

bosh - 11-11-2005 at 12:36 PM

Audiosoft: The beta will not load. It shows the splash screen, but the progress bar (that shows up on the splash screen) never initiates. After several minutes I had to terminate eJukebox using the task manager.

Audiosoft - 11-11-2005 at 10:15 PM

OK thanks bosh. You did replace the ejukebox.exe over the old one in your eJukebox folder right?

bosh - 11-11-2005 at 10:56 PM

Yep, a straight replacement. Of course I backed up the original before, so no permanent damage.

Audiosoft - 11-12-2005 at 01:20 AM

bosh,

Please redownload v3.991 beta as I have updated the file. eJukebox should start now without a problem. Let me know if the Autolist builder shows up.

bosh - 11-13-2005 at 08:54 PM

The updated beta runs now, but autolist builder still fails to initialize.

I have the same problem: On 3.99 and 3.991 nothing happens when I select autolist builder.

Windows 2000 SP4, US version

I was starting to worry I was the only one with this problem!

The initial connection looks to be we are both running Windows 2000 SP4.

I'm using a VIA Eden ESP 5000 CPU, with 512 mb of RAM.

Audiosoft - 11-16-2005 at 06:03 PM

Thanks I will see if I can determine how to get it working....What about the clean/refresh database section? Does that show up under Win2000 SP4?

bosh - 11-16-2005 at 08:48 PM

I don't seem to have any problems loading this form.

Audiosoft - 11-16-2005 at 09:03 PM

Give this a try... Shutdown eJukebox and save the attachment over the old C:Program FileseJukeboxejukebox.exe

bosh - 11-16-2005 at 10:51 PM

Tried out the update; still no autolist builder.

bosh - 12-10-2005 at 05:15 PM

Demnos - did you ever have any luck with autolist builder?

Demnos - 12-12-2005 at 10:52 AM

Nope, doesn't work for me either. Hope that Audiosoft can look into this issue some more. Are we the only two that have this problem?

Could anyone else who also cannot run Auto List Builder please report this, please!

Pirk - 12-12-2005 at 11:53 AM

The autolist builder works good for me, on win xp pro.

bosh - 1-20-2006 at 05:03 PM

I installed the latest eJukebox release 3.993 onto my laptop, another windows 2000 machine. Autolist builder failed to load.

This certainly looks to be an problem exclusive to windows 2000.

rllercstr7 - 1-28-2006 at 11:43 PM

Audiosoft Autolistbuilder is also failing to initialize on my computer, however I am running Windows XP Home SP2. I have exactly the same problem as the people above. If I try creating a pressing the "new" button in the playmodes option menu eJukebox crashes and I end up with an erorr report.

Audiosoft - 1-29-2006 at 12:37 AM

Interesting....any error #'s or file names other than ejukebox.exe listed in the error report?

rllercstr7 - 1-29-2006 at 06:54 PM

Basically when I click the new button I hear a quick ding noise and the error reporter pops up. Here is the error repot. It didn't mean a whole lot to me, but maybe it will help you out.

Audiosoft - 1-30-2006 at 05:27 AM

OK, I tested it on a fresh win2k sp4 install and the AutoList Builder would not work until I installed updated runtime files.

This should get it working (let me know either way):
Shutdown eJukebox then download and run the following file:

Download File

rllercstr7 - 1-30-2006 at 01:00 PM

Audiosoft this did not fix it on my Windows XP system.

Demnos - 1-30-2006 at 10:08 PM

Alas, on my W2K also not working...

Audiosoft - 1-30-2006 at 10:18 PM

Did you guys restart your computer after installing the runtime update?

bosh - 1-30-2006 at 10:43 PM

Applied the update & restarted my computer.

Autolist builder still refuses to load.

rllercstr7 - 1-31-2006 at 01:23 AM

Yes I did restart. Same result :(

Audiosoft - 1-31-2006 at 04:26 AM

Thanks to everyone that tried the runtime download.
After many hours of testing, I finally figured out what was actually causing the problem. The AutoList Builder had used the MS Date Selector under the Last Played section...which needed MSCOMCT2.OCX. If that file was missing from system32 the AutoList Builder would fail to load.

Since I don't want to have to add 700K to the eJukebox installers I have decided to just replace the date selectors with text boxes where you can just type in the dates you want.

eJukebox v3.994 is now out and the AutoList Builder will work for everyone that was having problems.

rllercstr7 - 2-1-2006 at 12:42 PM

Thanks Audiosoft! It works now :D
