Good news!

In fact I have been able to generate all these requested commands thanks to the program I use to drive my remote control...
In this way my personal jukebox is now even better fitted for use on my TV screen. Especially when I use the Popularity/Costum mode, now I can display the current album in the songlist pressing one button of my remote control. In the same way I can also easily skip the next song.
Combinated with my extra-large font the HTPC jukebox dreamed start to become really functional. That's great!

And how do you do it? Using Girder?

Yes, Pirk, please tell us how you did it! Inquiring minds want to know!!:D

What remote do you use, btw?

Well, basically it's quite simple:

First and easy solution:
To buy a remote control for your PC like the ATI. I've read this one is very good, not expensive and also usable with non-ATI graphic cards. I don't know if you can find it in the US but anyway you certainly can find others. I think it is sold with a driving program.

Second solution I currently use:
Using Girder (free) or PC Remote Control (not free) you can drive ANY Infrared remote control you ALREADY HAVE! (TV, Hi-Fi...). The only thing is you need to find (or build) an IR receiver connected to the serial port of your PC. I have built mine, it's easy if you can unearth the specific infrared diode and if you are a bit handy.
Next it's the program which recognize the keys pressed after learning each key. I think this step is the more difficult because you need to find the parameters providing a good reception.
When the learning stage is finished you can assign an action list for each key. Girder or PC Remote Control can simulate any keyboard key combination, mouse movements, clicks, volume control... and send them to any running application you want. It can even shutdown your PC.
E.g. the action list performed for the key "Display current album in the songlist":
- move the mouse to x: 170, y:440 (absotute position of the now playing album image)
- left click
- move the mouse to x: 799, y:0
Here is the secret! You can believe me, that works fine!

I have also redrawn (using MS Word!!!) the key inscriptions specially for eJukebox. Look the result:

Thanks.
