Improvement of "Show currently playing song's album in Songlist when inactive"
Pirk - 3-11-2009 at 08:21 PM

Audiosoft,

That would be great if when in mode "Show currently playing song's album in Songlist when inactive", the Artist name, Song name, and album cover was ALWAYS visible.
Indeed currently if the songlist is quite long, often either the song name or the artist name is displayed outside of the songlist window.. It's a shame.

You'll say me "Pirk I can't fix that" but I think you are wrong, a solution should be possible:
- First you could make so that the currently playing song is always visible, autoscrolling the songlist when necessary.
- Then you move the Artist name and Album image in front of the current song name, generating the corresponding songlist. Easy! well I hope..

Thanks.

I think i can only do the first part and make it jump/center/focus the playing song in the songlist not sure about 2nd part...the artistname in songlist would go offscreen if jumps to song way down the list.

Here is a attempt editing my songlist.dis.. but I hope you could make that directly in the html ?

Audiosoft - 3-11-2009 at 09:08 PM

hmmm...Then does it show the artist name on the first song in the list also?

btw i just updated the .55 exe download..so it now focuses the playing song in songlist and moves it on screen that way you always see it.

No but I think we don't need to show the artist name twice?

Thanks a lot for this instant update!

Trying the updated .55..
Only disadvantage is when playing the first songs # of a album it seems the songlist moves too early, the focused song moves over the top.. I'm using the old carrousel and the albumlist Pinned.

ok there was a problem with the first song in songlist going offscreen. just updated .55 again should now focus the current song better in the songlist view

It seems it's rather better this time.
Maybe the cases where it doesn't work are when there are titles in a album that doesn't fit in one line? I'm not sure.

Thanks again anyway.

Audiosoft,

Sorry if I return to the fray.. but I tried more your latest update, and well I don't know if the cure is not worse than the hurt.. :(

I noticed that when the focused song is before the album middle it tends to scroll to much: very often the current song exceed the songlist top!
I don't know how you calculate the right focus? It seems it's not that easy.

Thanks.

Target missed! :o

Pirk - 3-12-2009 at 06:07 PM

Be careful, now I don't know what to think: during the last hours almost all the targeted songs has been visible, contrary to my previous experiences! That's crazy.. ??

Audiosoft, I'm not quite satisfied with the songlist animation update. Here is my view: (from the good advice of night!)

First plan:
1) You take the current songlist Visible height.
2) You take the Active song height (from the top).
3) If the Active song height < songlist Visible height then you Do Nothing! In order to have the Artist name still visible..
4) If the Active song height > songlist Visible height then you Begin to Scroll..

Second Ideal plan:
- You Center the visible part of the songlist on the Active song.
- You center the Artist name in front of the Active song.
- You center the Album image in front of the Active song.
In this way all the songlist elements will scroll except the active parts in the center of the shelf 3D and albumlist:
Maximum Optimization, Awesome Effect guaranteed!

Audiosoft, what you think about my suggestions in the post above? The underlined parts in particular.. :o

Thanks.

Audiosoft - 3-15-2009 at 09:33 PM

Good concepts Pirk...4.99.56 download is up under Latest Updates. I got the inactive feature's songlist highlight to always align in view for pinned albumlist/long songlist. BTW this is the same highlight and focus you get after you right click the songlist and select Edit Song and use < > in editor....so can also do that to test instead of waiting for inactivity.

Thanks for the tip Audiosoft. It seems to work perfectly, you are the best!
Now it would just miss you center the Artist name and Album image in front of the highlighted song.. The second plan! :o

Really? strange..

When you thought you had seen everything, a french guy starts illustrating software desires by Norwegian christmas songs at a webpage located in the United States. What are the odds? :)

It’s kind of spooky, I guess it can't all be Alizée :D

Audiosoft, the inactive feature's songlist highlight works good, but could you make it starts to scroll later, please? In order to keep the artist name visible as long as possible..
Unless you can align (move) the artist name with the highlighted song? :o

Thanks.
