Anyone using V3.75 with Win98?

Because the new version wont load on my system. The first .tmp file appears and then it just sits there.

Thanks for letting us know about this. We will fix this problem with the next version.

For now you can add this line to your ejukebox.ini and v3.75 should load on Win98:

[RAM]
Reduce=0

Please let us know if that fixes it.

That doesnt seem to work. I added that at the top of ejukebox.ini and EJ behaves no differently at all.

Hmm...What exactly happens when you run it on win98? Does the eJukebox startup screen show up?

Krobar - 4-18-2004 at 04:23 PM

The startup screen does not show. The first temporary file appears but not the second Jet one. The same happens if I use the executable from the beta in fast index searching thread.

The system is remote booted and hence I dont update the image unless update works so it is clean.

Any progress on a solution> Have you tested 3.75 in Win98SE?

Audiosoft - 4-20-2004 at 09:42 PM

Give this a try and let us know if it works on Win98. If not let us know if anything different occurs.

Replace your eJukebox.exe with the one attached to this post.

Krobar - 4-21-2004 at 04:48 PM

Nothing different seems to occur, I simply replace my 3.70 executable with the one above. I tried it with and without the ini lines. If its any help ejukebox does appear in the task manager list and can be ended without issue, it doesn't say its not responding or anything.

Do us a favor and go into your win98 registry (RUN --> Regedit) and check and let us know if there is a value at: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAudiosofteJukeboxInstallDir

Krobar - 4-25-2004 at 06:28 PM

The value is:
"C:PROGRAM FILESEJUKEBOX"

Audiosoft - 4-25-2004 at 07:06 PM

Ok Thanks. Turns out that didn't help....however, I think we know what is going wrong - the official next version will be out soon and should fix the problem. We can't post another eJukebox.exe for you to test it because there are too many changes in the next version (because of the new skinning system) so it needs an installer.

V3.8 Works!

It did lose my registration info though?!?
