Windows 7 program stopped responding FIX

Win7 sometimes crashes programs that are not really crashed.

FYI If you get the dreaded Win7 error that the program has stopped responding there are registry key values you can increase to make Windows 7 less temperamental...

Run regedit

HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTControl PanelDesktopHungAppTimeOut
HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTControl PanelDesktopWaitToKillAppTimeOut
HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktopHungAppTimeOut
HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktopWaitToKillAppTimeOut
HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktopWaitToKillServiceTimeOut

you will need to restart your computer after changing any of these.

As a precaution, make sure to have system restore enabled. Just in case things will go our way.
