Incorrect Album Art - Where is Art Stored
crlove - 11-13-2005 at 07:01 AM

I have an Album that is showing up with the wrong artist /album cover displayed. I checked the folder.jpg and it is the correct album, the song had no art attached to the id3v2. Is their a location that the art is stored in ejukebox and can I edit it?

Right now eJukebox only supports cover.jpg files....but v3.991 will be release this week and will add support for folder.jpg during music database setup.

If you right click on a song in eJukebox you can select EDIT SONG to change the cover images from inside eJukebox. However in your case you might just want to wait for v3.991 final then rebuild your database so it picks up your folder.jpg files.

Audiosoft,

I would like that during the database setup eJ takes images in this order:
ID3 Tag cover first, then if none embeded cover found it takes the "cover.jpg", then if no cover.jpg it takes the "folder.jpg".

Right ?

I agree with Pirk. The last step in that process would be, if no coverart is found anywhere, look it up on the internet.

Thanks,
Steve

I agree with Pirk and Stsirois.

I have replaced a lot of old amg images in my tags and don't want them to be replaced by the old folder.jpg and cover.jpg (from amg) images that I have in my directories at rebuild.

Audiosoft - 11-13-2005 at 10:10 PM

eJukebox has always used cover.jpg if it exists instead of getting the picture from the tag...that way people can just save a cover.jpg in the folder and not have to worry about the images in the album's tags.

Right now it is: cover.jpg -> id3 image -> EJ lookedup image -> online lookup

Ah.. that's right!
So currently, if I update my images by drag & drop on the now playing panel (which is quite handy), I also need to update the cover.jpg images in case I rebuild the database later...

I don't know what would be the better solution, but I think that should not bother me too much if that was:

id3 image -> cover.jpg -> folder.jpg -> EJ lookedup image -> online lookup

Because most of the folders in which I've put a cover.jpg contain mp3s without id3 image. But now I realize: not all!

Also I've the EJ "auto lookup" blocked. So I'm protected against the EJ "bad" auto lookups... But if the id3 images become dominating, any EJ lookup will be critical, since the EJ looked up images are also saved in the id3 tags! Right? (I'm not sure of that...)

Well.. that becomes complex!
In fact the current cover.jpg priority provides a good safety lock... And sure, that would be a shame to lose that!!

So, once again, maybe we could have a system with several user options? :D

Demnos,
HELP! Where are you ?? You always haved a good solution... :(

Fishy - 11-14-2005 at 01:35 AM

Id3 --> Cover.jpg ---> folder.jpg--->Ej lookup ---> online lookup sounds excellent. If cover.jpg and/or folder.jpg is placed first, I sure have to search up every folder.jpg's I have and wipe them out of the disk. I've already done that with all cover.jpg files..

Tend to update my images by ctrl+v the url into the editor, so the physical images on disk are quite outdated. Most of them are small amg images grabbed by Tag & Rename..

Audiosoft - 11-14-2005 at 02:34 AM

OK...you guys have convinced me to change it...
I have updated eJukebox so it now goes ID3 -> cover.jpg -> folder.jpg in v3.991 final.

Pirk - 11-14-2005 at 12:07 PM

All right.. that should suit good! :D

Maybe that would be useful if this feature was clearly specified somewhere in eJukebox or in a Help file, because many new users - like crlove, the writer of this post! - wonder about that. And for others it's still good to have a reminder.

Thanks.

How about making it a user config item with at least a few choices?

In fact I would appreciate that too.
In anticipation of the day where I will need to rebuild my database: Since I've only edited the external "cover.jpg" images, I fear to experience a lot of problems because of ID3 covers which are not up to date: too small or wrong images... And now that ID3 images are dominating all these bad images will reappear again! :(

So yes, I think for eJukebox, "The Graphical music browser", a image config item would be welcome!! :)
And like that, at least users would know where they go...
