Possible to change the progressbar colors properly?
Fishy - 5-4-2004 at 04:36 PM

Working on a skin.

I have only been able to change the color on the part of the progressbar which actually moves during playback. I would like to change the color of the bar where the play, pause, time remaining etc are situated. Is this possible in colors.ini or in some of the dis files?

Audiosoft - 5-4-2004 at 06:43 PM

I believe that is the only thing we missed when creating the colors.ini for v3.8.

For the next version we have added the possibility for:
[PlayTime ProgressBar]
nonElapsedBG=

If you want I will upload a new eJukebox.exe that recognizes nonElapsedBG= later today. Also, let us know if you find anything else that needs to be added.

Thanks a lot for the reply!

Sounds great! If it's not too much trouble I would love to see a fix on this :)

It's possible that I've overseen something, but the right bar of the artistlist, a blue vertical line 1-2 px large, seems to be left out of reach too?

This also seems to be the case of the blue borders around the homeview. But, since the latter is under heavy surgery anyhow, I don't know how much energy you want to lay into adding this to the homeview.ini file?

The rest of ej seems to be opened properly :)

OK... here it is:

[ArtistList]
RightBorder=

and
[ProgressBar]
nonElapsedBG=

now work when added to colors.ini

Fishy - 5-4-2004 at 09:01 PM

Thanks a lot! :)

The right border of the artistlist now works fine.

But the PlayTime ProgressBar
nonElapsedBG seems to have some problems with cooperating with the PlayTime ProgressBar.

I have set them all to 0 now, but depending on the order in the colors.ini the default white color comes into action. Either as a border for the progressbar When:

[PlayTime ProgressBar]
nonElapsedBG=0

[PlayTime ProgressBar]
Background=0
Border=0

or as background for the nonelapsed bg When:

[PlayTime ProgressBar]
Background=0
Border=0

[PlayTime ProgressBar]
nonElapsedBG=0

Hope I've described the problem good enought. I'll post screenshots if you need them.

Audiosoft - 5-4-2004 at 09:35 PM

Sorry should have explained...

You need to put all 3 under the same header like:

[PlayTime ProgressBar]
Background=0
Border=0
nonElapsedBG=0

Strange, that made all colors appear correctly except for the border color of the progressbar that draws two white lines through the bar while advancing, even when set to color 0.

Fishy - 5-4-2004 at 09:54 PM

A screenshot of how it looks. Can it be due to a color defined for some other element?

Audiosoft - 5-4-2004 at 11:33 PM

Thanks for the screenshot. We have fixed it so the border color gets applied correctly.

Fishy - 5-4-2004 at 11:43 PM

Ah great! Now it works flawlessly.

Thanks for all the help on this, I really appreciate it ;)

Audiosoft - 5-5-2004 at 05:33 AM

Your welcome...really looking forward to trying out your skin when it is ready. :D

Fishy - 5-5-2004 at 09:43 AM

It's mine and Junks actually. I think it's going to be interesting ;)

junk - 5-5-2004 at 03:27 PM

Agreed. :) It's quite dark, the color settings more or less the oppsosite of the default eJ skin. But after getting used to it, i think most people will find it quite stylish, allthough perhaps a bit alien. :)

Fishy - 5-5-2004 at 03:42 PM

H.R Giger meets Salvadore Dali in a dark basement maybe? :D

Pirk - 5-5-2004 at 04:56 PM

That will be the "Arctic design"! :D I'm impatient to play with it! ;)

Fishy - 5-5-2004 at 04:58 PM

Pirk:

Hehe.. I don't know how much "arctic feel" there is in this one. You've already played with it through the help you gave us with the songlist imagescaling, remember? :)

I might have some more questions about dising soon. Would like to implement some shadows for the now playing fonts, but can't get it to work properly. Wish I was as good as you with the dis files :)

edit: I figured out how to use the glow effect properly in the songlist and artistlist.

But for some reason it won't work (with the same techniques) in the playlist and now playing panels. Probably doing something wrong, will try to figure it out tomorrow when I return from the university.

Pirk - 5-5-2004 at 07:19 PM

Yes that's true ;) i've already played a bit with your songlist, and with your damned dis file too! Thanks. :D
Now i'm even more impatient to see the final result! ;)

...shadows in the now playing pannel? Good idea! and easy to carry out, i think. A little filter should do nicely... :)

That will be a pleasure if i can help you a bit, in spite of my modest competences...

edit:
Well, i hope i will be up to... if you say that don't work like in the songlist! Weird...

2nd edit:
By the way, your now playing panel screenshot look great! Bravo Fishy & Junk :cool:

Pirk - 5-6-2004 at 07:27 PM

I've also tried to apply some filters in the other panels:
Unfortunately you are right Fishy, the nowplaying and playlist panels seem to don't support filters from their dis files. I think it's because they aren't in pure html. Only Audiosoft could allow filters there, if they can find a way to pass them through the dis file...

The Artistlist support filters, but as it's a long list, that slowdown to much the mouse reaction...

Audiosoft - 5-6-2004 at 08:30 PM

Hmm...maybe there is some sort of font you could use to make almost the same effect but without the slow down. If you include fonts in your skinname.zip they should be accessible for anyone that uses the skin.

Pirk - 5-6-2004 at 09:17 PM

Ah... really Audiosoft? Thanks for the suggestion! Now we can go hunting to the shadowed fonts...

Audiosoft - 5-6-2004 at 09:27 PM

Not sure if there is such thing as shadowed fonts...but there may be. I know there are "bubble" fonts which might look good.

Pirk - 5-6-2004 at 09:29 PM

Well, i've found a nice one but they sell it for $42 !!!: http://www.fonts.com/findfonts/detail.asp?pid=205616
I hope it exists some equivalent free fonts...

This one's close and free:

Pirk - 5-7-2004 at 10:37 AM

Thanks. ;)

kraymer - 5-13-2004 at 08:11 PM

you have this website dafont.com with a lot of free fonts

Audiosoft - 6-1-2004 at 02:03 AM

We have made it so eJukebox v3.83 supports filters specified on the nowplaying.dis file.
