Get Database Corruption Error - TRIED EVERYTHING
pmilnes - 5-31-2004 at 05:03 PM

Hello,

I installed this software on a PII, 233Mhz, 160mb RAM, 4gb hard drive, Windows 98. I want to pull files off of my server and play them.

I try to install the software, and get a database corruption error. I have searched for threads on this topic, and nothing seems to work. I am installing a fresh copy, and the full version. I have deleted IE from my machine.

Any ideas?

I LOVE this software and want to use it our PC upstairs to pull files from our main computer! Help!

You mean that IE is not present at your computer at the moment? IE have to be installed for ejukebox to work. You could also try to do a reinstall of winamp 2.91...

No, I deleted it - I thought that I was supposed to do that - I read that on one of the support threads.

But even when IE was installed, I got the same error.

Ok. First make sure that IE and Winamp are properly installed. Together with this update for Windows:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6c050fe3-c795-4b7d-b037-185d0506396c&DisplayLang=en

If these are installed and it still doesn't work you might want to try this:

1. Go to the directory where ejukebox is situated and delete the file named ejuke.asn

2. Grab a clean ejuke.asn from:
http://www.audiosoft.net/forums/viewthread.php?action=attachment&tid=332&pid=1330 and save it to your ejukebox directory.

3. Try to start ejukebox, and rebuild your database.

A deeper discussion of the problem can be found at : http://www.audiosoft.net/forums/viewthread.php?tid=304 Hope this helps.

Okay...

Re-installed IE, deleted the file in my Ejuke directory, and replaced it with the one that you linked.

Same problem. Any other ideas?

hmm you're using win98? Have a good look at http://www.audiosoft.net/download.htm

Click the "click here if ejukebox doesn't work after installation" link. There are three updates there depending on your windows version. Make sure that you install the Jet 4.0 Sp8 and Mdac 8 and reinstall ej afterwards.

If that doesn't work I don't know. But I bet Audiosoft got some ideas.

Audiosoft - 5-31-2004 at 09:39 PM

If you have Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher installed it should work after following the "click here if ejukebox doesn't work after installation" instructions on: http://www.audiosoft.net/download.htm

Kayden did you try deleting the database file as Fishy earlier instructed pmilners? Thats the first step to take, then a reinstalle of eJukebox and winamp if that doesn't work.

Audiosoft - 11-6-2006 at 04:13 AM

Winamp does not have anything to do with the ejukebox database so there is no need to delete or reinstall winamp for this problem.

You may want to upgrade to IE7 final now that it is out to see if that fixes the problem. If that doesn't work delete C:Program FileseJukeboxejuke.asn and db.m3u and reinstall eJukebox.

kayden75 - 11-11-2006 at 02:56 AM

yes - I have followed all instructions, including deleting the database, deleting the entire folder, everything.

I'll try the final IE7 & let you know what happens
